Join MKE Live and Southeastern WI Arts Guild for “An Evening With the Arts” at Discovery World

May, 2010 – MILWAUKEE, WI – With the generous sponsorship of Discovery World, the stars are aligned for “An Evening with the Arts,” hosted by MKE Live and the Southeastern WI Arts Guild.  The event will be held in Discovery World’s Pilot house on Monday June 14, 2010 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

“An Evening with the Arts” will feature pivotal members of the Milwaukee Arts and Entertainment community who will engage business leaders on:

  • “The Art of Improv.,” Richard Chudnow, Co-creator of ComedySportz
  • “Some Reflections on a Life in the Theatre” Laura Gordon, Actress, the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre
  • “Guerilla Music-Making and Neighborhood Arts Advocacy,” Richard Hynson, Music Director, Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra and Bel Canto Chorus
  • “Raphael Exhibition: The Woman with the Veil,” Laurie Winters, Director of Exhibitions, Milwaukee Art Museum.
  • “Tourism and The Arts – Building a Creative Economy Through Film and Television,” David Fantle, Vice President of Public Relations, Visit Milwaukee
  • “Adding to the Cultural Footprint of the Festival City,” Susan Scot Fry, Managing Director, Optimist Theatre

“We are delighted to return to Discovery World for the second consecutive year,” said Katie Felten, President of MKE Live.  “The pilot house, with its 360-degree views of downtown Milwaukee, is a perfect setting for this special cultural event.”

“As an integral member of Milwaukee’s cultural community, we are proud to work with MKE Live and others to open our wonderful facility to the public.  Discovery World is truly a unique facility with a location along the lake front that is second to none,” Richard Cieslak, Marketing Director, said of their key sponsorship in this event.

Cost for “An Evening with the Arts” is $25 at the door, but only $20 if you pre-register at www.mkelive.com/calendar.
