Coach’s Corner with Dr Rick Schaefer

Your Daily Focus:  What if Bliss is the Worst that Could Happen?

Fear. It seems to be the popular theme right now. Fear about the economy, fear of losing one’s job, fear of the unknown, fear about just about everything. It seems to be escalating to the extreme of paralyzing people to the point of avoiding opportunities and new choices.

But really, what is the worst that can happen?

You could make a mistake. A mistake? Really!?! What if there are no mistakes? How about the idea that every choice is just a logical step on the magical journey of life. Some choices you make feel good and some bad… initially. Some feel stupid, and some feel brilliant… initially.

You could lose face or damage your reputation. Really!?! C’mon, the people who respect you will not be deterred by one choice you make. They will still respect that you followed your gut and took a chance. The people who currently don’t respect you will not be converted either, no matter how many brilliant choices you make.

You could get sick. Really!?! What a great opportunity to feel a renewed drive for health. What better way to be reminded to focus on your health and to build up more and more desire for health that will convert to action… nutrition, exercise, rest, and healthier thoughts.

You could die. Really!?! That does seem to be the worst that could happen with any choice ever, right? Well, the vast majority of the people on Earth believe that with death comes an emergence into pure eternal bliss, or heaven, or reuniting with God.

The worst that could happen?… pure bliss! So, why fear it? Why fear anything? All of us will inevitably die, so in the meanwhile why not live? Live a little, experiment, experience, try some new stuff, make it happen.

Say, “Yes!” a few more times… and live!  Really!!!

Enjoy,

Rick

handshake

Did you enjoy your Thanksgiving? I hope you had time to spend with your family and friends and to really reflect on what you treasure most. I don’t just think about what I’m grateful for during Thanksgiving. It is a daily occurrence for me. I find that the best way to bring more good things into your life is to focus on all the great things you already have. On the advice of my Personal Coach Sunni ( http://www.sunniboehme.com/classes.html ), I started a “Gratitude Journal” and find something everyday that I am grateful for. At the top of the page it says, “I am so happy and grateful now that…” I find at least one thing each day to add to the journal and then more of those things are magnetically attracted into my life.

12/3/10 (Friday) 11:15am -1:30pm WI Business Owners Luncheon

http://www.meetup.com/wisconsin-business-owners/calendar/12040870/

How To Blog-Even if You’re a Techno-Idiot, Don’t Know What to Say & Can’t Write!

We have a real treat this month!(Remember – November / December Wisconsin Business Owners Lunch & Learns are combined to the FIRST FRIDAY in December, the 3rd)

Please join me for a professional presentation by the Publicity Hound Joan Stewart:

How to Blog -Even if You’re a Techno-Idiot, Don’t Know What to Say & Can’t Write!
Blogging is one of the most powerful ways to promote your expertise, attract leads and leave your competitors in the dust. Publicity expert Joan Stewart, a prolific blogger, says too many business owners won’t touch blogging because they’re pressed for time, frightened by the technology and don’t know what to write about.

Joan will demonstrate how to create a blog in 10 minutes or less, for free, even if you’re a techno-idiot. Her killer handouts will also give you 24 ideas for things to write about, and she’ll offer at least a half dozen shortcuts for business owners who either can’t write or don’t have time to write. (You don’t have to start from scratch and you don’t have to do it all yourself.)

Come with questions! After this session, you’ll be able to create your own blog, publish your first post and start pulling traffic that same day.
Joan’s bio:

Publicity expert Joan Stewart shows you how to use free publicity from traditional and social media to establish your credibility, enhance your reputation, position yourself as an expert, sell more products and services, promote a favorite cause or issue, and position your company as an employer of choice.
She is the author of four ebooks on publicity and is quoted in more than 60 books on marketing, public relations and small business.

Joan is a prolific blogger at http://www.PublicityH…, has more than 17,000 followers on Twitter, and is a member of LinkedIn’s “Top Recommended People
— Gold” group. She publishes the popular ezine, “The Publicity Hound’s Tips of the Week” at PublicityArticles.net. ————————————–

Saturday December 4th 6:00p.m. – 8:30p.m. Lake Country Caring Client Needs Benefit

In addition to the purchase of the ticket, ($27.00) we are requesting that everyone bring a new hygiene item or some sort of new towel (kitchen, bath, hand, washcloth) for the families in need. And if you want to bring more, it won’t be refused! 🙂

Please also keep your receipt from PayPal – It will be your entrance ticket.

My Virtual Project, a locally owned family business, has recognized that there has never been a greater need facing your neighbors and our neighbors in this economically challenging time. As founding sponsor and In combination with the generous efforts of our host sponsor, Olympia Resort, we are hosting a Holiday Benefit Event in support of Lake Country Caring in Hartland, Wisconsin.

Founded in 1990, Lake Country Caring (“LCC”) originally operated out of the basements of Waukesha County residents. In 1995, it moved to a converted home in Delafield, Wisconsin. In 2006, it moved to its current location in Hartland. The facility is open six days a week and is staffed by all volunteers – there is no paid staff member! It is open to clients three days per week to provide clothing, toys, and various household items free of charge to anyone in need. Nothing is sold – it is all given away. This organization has a mission of helping all of those in need in the Lake Country area of Wisconsin.

They provide so much to so many and would sincerely appreciate donations such as hygiene products, towels and wash cloths (kitchen too!) and of course, dollars to continue to fund the important work that they do in your community. Please come and show your support at a wonderful “trendy dressy” event featuring a wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, entertainment and a raffle from local area businesses. We do hope that you can join us for this great social occasion for a great local cause.
